Welcome 2020

January 1, 2020   in category: Blog

Over 12 000 unique visits this year, nice!

All right, let’s sum up last year. Got invited to small development team of the one of the best and biggest S.T.A.L.K.E.R mods in the world. Amazing experience so far, devs are great and very professional, can’t wait to work more on level design next year. I’m glad to see, how countless gamers are speaking so nice about my work and praise new and fresh visuals of Exclusion Zone. It’s new ground for me, because I never worked with insides of this engine before. Because of that, every opinion is even more gratifying.

Survived car crash, in which I almost lost my life, that was interesting. Can’t get over losing my beloved car, I miss it like hell. It left huge hole in my soul. Company branch, in which I worked in, got disbanded – but I stayed employed. In the end, against all odds, I worked 7 days a week, from 10 to 12 hours each day for more than last 8 weeks. Finishing hanging projects and fixing fuck-up they did by closing my division. It’s good to see they realized it was a mistake in the end, too bad it was too late. Guess we’re starting over, sigh. Work overload is actually not exhausting, more of annoying, because I didn’t have any time for my private projects. Still, I’m gaining ton of new knowledge and skills along the way, and getting paid for every single additional hour at the office, so I’m fine with that so far.

2019 – what a tiresome period full of successes mixed with disasters. Will I complain about it being bad? Fuck no, it was great. Only one thing would make it even better. Little Thing.

And as usual I hope next year will beat this one. Which I wholeheartedly wish to everyone reading this short entry full of jabber. Happy New Year!
